Idre Sami Village

In Sweden's southernmost Sami village, Idre Sami Village, the small family business Renbiten gives you insight into Sami culture. Experience, for example, reindeer marking, where calves are caught with a lasso according to old tradition.

VALDALSBYGGET

If you are curious to see how traditional mountain farming is done, you should take a trip to Valdalsbygget. Take the opportunity to have a coffee and buy some of the farm's products.

Mountain Chapel

If you seek peace and tranquility, don't miss a visit to the beautiful Mountain Chapel. Regular services and musical events are held here, and more than a few couples have been married in the chapel and then held their wedding reception at Storsätra Fjällhotell.

Airplane Wreck

Grövelsjön bears traces from a dramatic time in history. During World War II, in June 1940, a German aircraft of the type Heinkel 111 was forced to make an emergency landing on the lake. The wreck still remains, with parts of it protruding above the water surface below Sjöhögda.

The best way to experience this unique historical site is from the water, but it can also be seen from a distance with binoculars from the mountain. Join a tour with M/S Sylöra for a closer look at one of Grövelsjön's most fascinating stories.
